The Deep Blue Sea

June 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th 2025

Terence Rattigan, one of Britain’s premier playwrights, considered The Deep Blue Sea to be his best work. Set in 1952 post World War II London after the trauma of the Blitz, we find the tenants of 27 Weybridge Villas Ladbroke Grove coming to the rescue of Hester, a woman stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.

A story of passion and the complexity of love, this powerful, moving play is testament to all of us, who feel too much, love too deeply and believe that suffering, no matter how intense does not exclude hope.

“Death is the only pure, beautiful conclusion of a great passion.” – D. H. Lawrence, Fantasia of the Unconscious quoted by Geoffrey Wansell in his biography of Terence Rattigan

“A wonderful production full of complexity and power. The central performance was astonishing.”

“Congrats again for you beautiful work. You give these guys such depth and passion. Bravo.”

“The attentiveness and seriousness with which you all undertook the work, the sense of community around it really filled me with a sense of joy and possibility.”

“You broke my heart, in the best possible way.”

“J’ai été très heureuse d’être là pour la première soirée de la pièce. J’ai été très touchée et dans le contexte très vite.”

“Bravo Alexa pour cette performance et pour la qualité des acteurs! Certainement un gros travail derrière…”
